Help for a newbie, please.
Help for a newbie, please.
I just swapped from TBI to carb and I have now a little problem.
When I floor it from a dead stop, the car runs great but when I floor it while the car is already moving, it bogs once and then it goes.
The last time it did this kind of thing was when I changed the camshaft and the timing was too retarded and it was backfiring. So I checked the timing and tried everything from 8 to 16 (base timing) but it still does it.
I pulled a spark plug and it looked quite good, very clean (maybe a tiny little bit of white on it)
What is wrong? Is the timing too retarded? Am I running too lean?
Thanks for your answers,
Jacques.

You probably have too weak of a spring on the secondary diaphragm. Either put in a heavier one, or get the Quick Fuel adjustable secondary housing from Jegs (that's what I have on the '57 - love it).
