84 z carb lag
yea my 84 stock z except for the aluminum radiator and tach and short shifter and some other small ****. it lags when i punch it. only from a stand still and i dont get why its almost like turbo lag. also i can barely spin the tires from going from 2nd to 3rd why

You probably have "secondary lag". It's cause is two-fold: 1) Air valve opening too soon (see tech articles for adjustment instructions), and/or 2) lean secondary rods & hanger (basic tuning stuff).
Address those issues, and see how it does.
