hard starting
i have an edelbrock 600 carb on a 1982 z-28. everything is new. After it sits for more than one day it is very hard to get started. i beleive the fuel is leaking/evaporating out of the fuel bowl. just not to sure why???? once i get it started it is fine as long as i drive it daily. once it sits 2 days or more it is back to the same thing. I am still running the electric fuel pump setup. it is still wired stock.......(looking for oil pressure from the engine before it gives power to the fuel pump)........thus the reason it takes a while for the pump to fill the fuel bowl. I am just stumped as to why the fuel is draining out?????
if it sits for a day or 2 give the gas pedal a few good pumps like maybe 3 pumps and try starting it. thats how all carbed cars are if they sit for days on end. i know mine does and my brothers car does.
if u have the stock coil or just a replacemnt stock oem coil, try and get a super coil from like accel or msd. my brother has that on his 86 sport coupe and after sittin for days he pumps the gas a few times and kicks right over. im thinknin of gettin it if it will help me start up alittle faster.
