changing from TPI to car, I wont 450-475 hp!
Like it says, Im changing from the 350 TPI to carb. I wont to use my block.
Should I go with a 355 or a 383? I wont to use Dart Iron eagle heads. Hi- rise intake, not sure on the cam, Holley 750 dp, hedman hedders.
What kind of set up will it take to get 450-475 hp out of it?
Im willing to get different heads, but I like dart. Maybe even dart pro 1's.
thanks.

Thats not an unattainable goal. you can do it with a 355 that spins low enough to still use hydraulic lifters and nothing exotic in the bottom end. I think I recall a magazine making 475 out of a 355 with AFR 190's and a 230/236 cam.
The Pro-1's are a good head IIRC..I'd get them over the iron Eagles. Brodix track ones are good too...AFR 210's are better for the same size. For cam the choices are infinate. Keep duration @050 over 230 to make that kinda power. 240ish is ok, but over 250 would start to be overkill and you;d have to do to solid lifters.
Go with a Team G intake, or the Dart/Brodix equivilent. All good products. A 750DP will do nicely....but I'd consider maybe going to an 850. Thats kinda borderline.

Thanks Jester.
Do you think 383 would be overkill. SInce I will be going 30 over, buying new pistons. Should I go ahead and throw a stroker kit in it while its down?
I can be happy with a 355 if it gives me the hp I want. I was also thinking about the Team G intake.
The key here is the magic numbers 475 maybe even 500.
I still want to be streetable, and run pumped gas. I dont think this is too much to ask.
Anyone else have any advice.
