Is a Road Demon 625 too big for an 87 305?

Is a Road Demon 625 too big for an 87 305?

it was originally a TPI motor, but the guy that had it before me was real smart and converted it to carburation [/sarcasm]

It kinda falls on its face til it gets up to 2000RPMs or so, then u can feel some power. Is it too big, or just maladjusted?

It's hard to say for sure... what sort of cam does it have? gears? exhaust? 625 CFM is not unreasonable for a 305 by itself, maybe it just needs calibration to match the engine it's on.

cams stock, exhaust is stock manifolds, no cat, flowmaster camaro muffler, 2.77 gears
