Me again with my carb.

After dismantaling the carb, cleaning it, and remantaling it, the car at first would not idle at all, I would get it up to 4,000 rpms hold the pedal there and then the rpms would drop severly to the point of stalling or backfiring and stalling. Before I took the carb of I didn't have any problems except for the "bog" in second gear.

Now I really think it is a bog problem ... and some.

After keeping the engine alive for about 5 minutes the car would idle at the right places, so I Put the air filter on and gave it a test run, I definately noticed the difference with the primary's the car would suddenly be going 50 mph without me even trying. Now I go on to the on ramp for the high way so I push the pedal to the metal and the car almost stalls when the secondary's open, and this happens in almost all gears if I slam the pedal down. the cary is driveable but just the bog is imbearable with the secondary's.

I have the secondary's resistance to staying closed very little or 0 takes nothing to open them and they close easy. I thought that is what the AV tension tech tip told me to do.

Any suggestions? my big trip is in 3 days ... a whole 280 miles rofl

thanks again guys.

Ok today when I went out to my car it Idle'd fine ... and it was at dead cold today up in NY, but it was fast idle'ing a little high around 1200 rpms, but i pop it into Reverse and it actually drops to 500 rpms and stays, but if i go to floor it it sounds like a snake hissing and then almost stalls then the rpms fly up. But the bog now is in all the time when the secondaries open. but if i don't push the gas for the secondaries the car is golden

Something new now

Ok if i force the car to get up to a hotter tempurature the car will idle fine, but if i floor it the car will suck for air and then die. if i push the pedal exactly half way the car will pick up off the line and fly but any further the secondaries will open and the whole car will bog down, so this weekend I was going to drive over to a well known salvage yard and get another carb and rebuild mine while the salvaged one is on my car.
