Dual Snorkel Setup for Carb Apps.

Does that dual snorkel setup that is so common on the TBI units even make sense to do with a carb? Would the direct air inducting into the carb make a difference, or is it only for like a TBI/TPI type situation. Obviously the RAM Air for the TPI is, but a maybe a closed air can with the dual snorkels feeding air to the carb is performance enhancing, or irrelevant?

Thanks, Eric

It came on carbs. Specifically the L69. People just stick on their TBIs, I would expect it to be a big boost for those.

It makes a big difference over most of the typical carb intakes. It picks up cold air, from the headlight area; and has far less than half of the restriction of the single-inlet carb (or TBI) intakes.

I agree with both RB and Curt. BTW, those dual snorkels (the air cleaner housing and plastic scoops) are no longer available from GM (the flexible hoses are, or at least were still available in the recent past) and the price seems to be going up. If you are going to get it, don't wait too long.

I am not sure that would clear the stock hood.
