holley 650

hey all i got a 86 camaro with the stock q jet intake and carb, the carb was rebuilt but its been annoying me lately. when the motor is cold its got ok power for what it is, once it warms up its a dog i know the motor dont have much ballsl its a stock lg4 motor with 176,000 on it wiht just a flowmaster muffler and a k&n air filter but it barely wants to get out of its own way. well to get to the point i have a 650 double pumper holley of my 88 mustang thats just sitting and i wana put that carb on my camaro. i can get a adapter plate to bolt the holley to the stock qjet manifold but my question is does anyone know if it will fit under the stock hood? if it will id rahter throw that carb on since holleys are easy to adjust. if anyone has any info if it might fit please let me know before i do it and find out theres no room and i swapped everything for no reason. the adapter plate is about a half inch thick if that helps thanks.

Yes it will fit, the Q-Jet and Holley are very close to the same height. And if it's a spreadbore carb, it won't even need an adapter.

You'll need a non-computer-controlled distributor too.

I'll put on my prophet robe here and say: "You'll go through all that work, only to find out the carb wasn't your problem to begin with."
