85 T/A 305 lg4, i'm wanting to put a 1 inch spacer under the carb, anyone try this and is there room + gains?

I have a 1" spacer by Berry Grant. It fit fine. I didnt really notice any power improvement. I used to have a problem with the car stalling right after startup on hot days after it sat for about an hour. But the car didnt stall after i put one on, so it must be keeping the fuel cooler.

could have quite also given the carburetor a better vaccuum signal, pulling the correct amount of fuel, thus making it run better.

was it a four hole or open?
