2-4barrel

I have a 92 RS with a 305 TBI. I just installed and open element and i'm thinking about changing the carb. Right now i have a stock 2barrell. My friend is going to do the conversion but i wanted to see what you all think. Is it a good move to go from a 2barrell to a 4? if so which do you recomend? and is the carb the onlything i have to change? If you think i should stay with a 2 barrell what kind do you recomend? I don't race and this is my everyday car...I'm just looking for a lil more power. Thanks in advance. You guys have been a great help so far with my ride.:hail:

The LO3 weaknesses include exhaust, heads, and cam. Fix those problems, and your new restriction will be the TBI intake manifold. Perhaps now you can consider doing something to the TBI.

Going from TBI to carb is not without a price. In addition to the parts that have to be purchased & changed (intake manifold, carb, and distributor), you will be disabling the ECM function - so, you need to make provision to lock up the torque converter. Gas mileage will decrease. Do all that, and you still haven't addressed exhaust, heads & cam, so power increase is not a given.

Do your "soon to come" mods, evaluate the results, then think about whether you want to go from TBI to carb.

A 2bbl TBI, properly set up, will do a performance daily driver fine. The only carb that should be considered is a 4bbl.
