where to get new cc qjet?
who sells new or rebuilt cc qjets for our cars and what are price ranges? Ive also thought of just getting one from a junkyard and getting it rebuilt if a new one is too much. Car needs to pass stupid emmisions inspection but not till next year, for now i have an early 80's vacuum secondary qjet on it but its non-cc

Edelbrock and Jet both make them, but very pricey, I think holley may make one as well, not sure about ccc though. Get yourself a used one, there's millions of 'em in junk yards, shop around to you find one that looks clean and in good condition, and has the fuel line in the right place for you. Check the throttle shafts for excessive play. If it's alright go to town. Rebuild kits from autozone are only like 27 bucks, from a junkyard the carb shouldn't cost more than 30.

HELLO:
I got one that was rebuilt from Champion for $250 plus a $50 core charge from Advance. Although I havn't installed it yet, it appears to have been done right as all the riveted parts have been drilled and tapped with machine screws and the adjustment plugs......, unplugged. In fact all the screws were machine head.
Federal-Mogul owns Champion now......, so I don't know if AAuto still buys that rebuild. If not, you might want to check with FM on that and that doesn' t work, I work for FM and maybe I can help.
GOOD LUCK,
PAT

I have a 84 Z28 HO in my back yard, I mest up the frame and my dad just finished rebuilding the Carb if you want to buy it! He is a Heavyline Mechanic for GM so it is a good rebuld! I would still have to ask my dad since he has the pink to the car. The car is mine but then its not if you know what I mean. I was planning to part it out soon anyway. All my dad wanted to keep was the engine so other than that the rest should be mine to sell. Let me know if you are intreseted!

I have yet to find a new cc q-jet. The new Edelbrocks are not cc carbs. Most local part stores sell rebuilts, trouble is they only replace the bare minimum. Almost none will replace the throttle shaft bushings which are a wear item. www.carbs.net sell rebuilts that have the new bushings installed but they are kinda pricey. DIY rebuild kits do not come with the bushings either. Sure wish I could find a new one

You can bush em yourself, I found a kit for $25 bucks to do the bushing online don't remember teh site, but i just did a search under quadrajet bushing kit on altavista. Also, just to point out, about 80% of carb rebuilds didn't need to be done, the real problem just gets corrected along the way.
