750 Dp'er
I have a Holley 750 DP and when I'm at the redlight or just at a stand still it acts as if it want to flood out. I talked to someone at a shop and he said that it sounds like my needle and seat needs to be adjusted. Is this something I can do myself? If so please walk me through what I need to do.
Thanks
Ken

its basic
You will need a 5/8 inch wrench and a screw driver. If you look at the pic, you will see a screw and a nut on top of each fuel bowl. also you will see where I drew a circle and the an arrow to where the fuel bowl sites are located. First step it to start the engine and leave idle, go to the passenger side of the car and take the fuel bowl site screw out of the carb, if fuel comes out quickly then you will need to adjust that need and seat. Put the screw back in. Do this to both fuel bowls.
To adjust needle and seat take your 5/8 wrench and put in on the nut take your other hand and putthe screw driver on the screw. turn the nut until it breaks loose and then turn the screw a 1/4 of an inch in the opposite direction of the nut.
repeat to the next fuel bowl.
go run the car to see if it clears out, if not repeat this until it does. you may have to adjust fuel and idle screws also but try this first.
Hope this help, its hard to explain how to do this but its really easy.

The nut adjusts the float level. The screw locks the adjustment in place.
Loosen the screw a bit first, then adjust the float level via the nut.
If the fuel level is too high, you need to adjust a bit, let the fuel burn down, readjust, etc. If it's the secondaries, you may need to open them by hand a bit to get that bowl to drain down.
