1985 Firebird Rebuild...

Hello all, I bought White Lightnin' 5 years ago as a project, and thats as far as I got. She sat in my driveway until yesterday when with the help of a few buddies we towed her down to the garage. It currently needs some TLC, but the tranny and block are ok, it needs a little frame work but nothing crazy. Components
350 (79 LM1 from a z28 I think)
624 heads (may be cracked according to previous owner)
Stealth Intake
Holley 450 Carb
No idea on Cam or Crank
Stock Headers
2.5" magna flow exhaust

A neighbour has some parts for sale

Team G Intake (Air gap)
441 heads, 5 hours on them, rebuilt and machined, double springs
Holley 750 Double Pumper Carb
Hooker Shorty Headers

Do you think I should swap any of those parts out for the neighbours?
What Cam should I look into to work well with the rebuild? I was thinking an LT4 Hot Cam... opinions?

Someday I'd like to get this girl at 350HP but I want a good start...

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

Okay, one by one:

LM1 - Not the best start, but workable. Make sure it has 3 starter mount bolt holes (must if the car has been running in the past).
624 heads - Door stops or an anchor for your bass boat.
Stealth intake - Depends upon your use and cam, but probably fine for a street car and 300+ HP. Can you find a part number on it?
Holley 450 carb - eBay or craigslist to help fund the project.
"Stock headers" - I assume you mean stock cast iron exhaust manifolds. You need headers for 350 HP.
2.5" exhaust - Too small if single. 3" better.
Team G intake - Single plane, can be driven on the street but needs a lot of cam and a lot of RPMs to really take advantage of it. More for a strip/street car than a street or street/strip car.
441 heads - They've had 5 hours wasted on them. Big chambers, require domed pistons to get any compression out of them, and they still won't flow well. What to use instead, you ask? I'd get a set of Summit SUM-151124 aluminum Vortec heads, sell the Stealth intake, get a dual plane Vortec intake manifold. Any idea what pistons this engine has? If they're dished (high likelihood), then you may want to consider replacing them with flat tops. Or get 58cc chamber heads (severely limits your choices).
Holley 750 DP - Probably bigger than you'll need, but if it's in decent shape, it'll work.
Hooker shorty headers - Depends upon what they really are. You'll want at least 1-5/8" primary tubes.
LT4 Hot Cam - That's a factory roller cam. Your block isn't set up for it. You can make it work with a cam button and link roller lifters, but you'll be spending a bunch of money to do it. Get a flat tappet cam/lifter kit, many have used the Comp XE268; there are plenty of other good choices out there.

Hope that helps.
