670 Avenger/Timing Help
I have tried to get this carb too run right and it will NOT cooperate with ME. It popping through the carb and have a very rough idle. I pulled the plug and iy=ts very wet from gas. Not a lot of black tsuff, so she aint running rich. I have also move the timing around and its not helping. I set the timing at 12* initial. I adjusted the float and the front will not come to the top of the clear sight bowls.
I have turned the engine over and watch all the valves move up and down, so I dont think that I have a stuck valve. May I might have piston to valve clearance problems.
Any recommendation will be appreciated.
BTW: This is a SBC 283 bored .080 over w/ Edelbrock RPM, 230/230 480/480 lift cam on a 108. 461 fuelie heads 202/160. 670 Avenger Carb.

try the lightest advanced springs, in the distrtibutor.
try timing it @ 36* total.
try putting about 12* of vac advance in at idle.
a good sized pump cam.. like the dark green.
i can't advise on the jetting of that carb... what you have it at now.
BTW... you want the fuel at the BOTTOM of the sight holes..
actually like so you can't see them until you give the car a rock then you see it.
