what can i do to beef up my edelbrock?

i have a 79 350 engine with the 441 heads. i have a 600 cfm edelbrock carb, lg4 intake manifold, and headers and all that good stuff but i am planning on swapping out the heads for some vette heads or somethin in the near future along with an edelbrock intake manifold and maybe a comp cam if i can get enough cash. but my question is how can i beef up my carb? i would like to keep it because its been a good carb adn everything but i dont know how well its going to handle what im gunna do. so what can i do to the carb to make it better? and does anybody have any ideas about how much power im going to be putting out when im done? im looking to get close to 300 hp if possible. i was also thinking of just selling my carb on ebay or something and buying a cheap enough demon if i can find one.

so what can i do to the carb to make it better?
Replace it with one more suited to a 350. 600 is too small, it will run out of flow somewhere between 4500 and 5000 RPM, on a dual plane intake; and around 5500 on a single plane.

No telling how much power you'll have, not knowing what heads & cam & intake you put on it. Could be anything from less than it has now, up to 550 HP or maybe even more, depending on what those things end up being and what other parts you surround it with.

replace the jets in the carb with others. They sell jets at orielly's for cheap as hell. I replaced mine three times and then finally found the ones i liked. You can also replace the spring in the side of the idle control. Just take off the four screws that hold it onthe side of the carb and put a lighter spring in it. This will let more fuel go through. With the jets, take out the long bolts holding the fuel bowls on your carb to the air venturies. Inside on the side of the air venturies there will be two little brass screws with holes through them. These are the jets that regulate the fuel flow into the air venturies.
