emissions pass additive

guys does this really help pass emissions? this stuff u can get at your local auto store.. my car is up for inspection in 2 weeks it only blows white smoke on startup but it runs fine.. what do u think?

It depends on what's wrong with the car, that keeps it from being able to pass. It won't stop oil burning for instance.

It is merely a chemical that contains oxygen, to artificially lean the mixture; usually some sort of alcohol.

These cars will usually pass with a good cat on them. I'd suggest just getting a new one if you have any doubts, they're only about $100 at Summit or the like.

My car's been blowing smoke at startup(sometimes) for years now. It has no problem passing Calif. smog test. I keep it tuned up and replace the O2 sensor when its bad. Just keep track of your gas mileage every tank, when gas milage starts to drop off, smothing is wrong.
