Elec. or Mech. fuel pump

I'm buying a motorless '86 Z28 that originally had the 4 bbl 305. Would that have an electric fuel pump, or did the carbed cars have mechanicals?

It would have had the mechanical pump on the engine block.

However, there was a dealer-installed "anti-vaporlock" kit that included an in-tank electric pump as well as the mechanical (in '87, it came standard). So, check for extra wires going up over the fuel tank. (My '86 donor car didn't have it, by the way).
