Pulley Woes

I'm going to do the CARB swap on my 383 IROC, I have a 2002 SS Vert, so this will mostly be a drag car. I'd like to delete the AC and Power Steering and swap to an S-10 manual box to cut down on the weight and parasitic drag. My question is what year models can I pull pulleys and brackets from to just run the water pump and alternator. I'm deleting the SMOG pump too. I'd like to just run the basics so if anyone has done this and you know what years and models please let me know, belt sizes too...thanks

I have an 87 IROC, and all I had to do was remove the belts and accessories I didn't want. All I'm running is water pump and alt.

I haven't done the S-10 box conversion yet, so we fabbed up some pipe plugs out of the old lines to close off the steering box. Basically I just cut the line about 1" after the fittings, and my dad brazed the line shut for me. It was a little rough getting used to no P/S with that close ratio IROC box at first, but it's not a big deal any more.

Are you using a v-belt or serpentine? How do you keep tension on the belts?

It's the setup that uses multiple V-Belts for most accessories, and a serpentine belt for the alternator, crank, and w/p. The way it's set up, the alternator doubles as the tensioner.

If you check out my site, I have a ton of pics up there. I may have some pics of the engine in there somewhere

If you don't find anything there that's useful to you, let me know and I'll snap some pics tomorrow and post em.
