Do you think an 850cfm holley double pumper would be too much for a 383?

It has CR3 rods, speed pro hypereutectics, gear to gear timing, vortec heads port/polished machined up to .6" lift, 1.6 roller rockers, hedman long tubes, cam will be somewhere around 240/250 @ .050 with around .500/.500 lift, with performer rpm manifold.

No. Obviously you'll have to play with jet size, but you'll be fine.

Depends upon your stall speed (if automatic) or launch RPMs (if manual). If the RPMs are too low, it'll bog on you. However, if the stall (or launch) is high enough to get you in your cam's powerband, the 850 should be okay.

Might still be more than you "need", but should be okay.
