hi guys. i gotta 85 camaro with the cc quadrajet that went kablooey.question is, can i replace with a non cc carb (probly temporarily), until i either fix this one or get a new one?was wondering if it would cause the ecm to screw my timing or something??????? thanks in advance.

Best route would be to fix whatever is wrong with your factory carb (if it's really the carb that has a problem).

thanks, five. yeah, carb is bad.cracked housing. bought an autozone cap and rotor when i got the car.anyways, the car started acting like crap, backfiring all kind of crap last week. pulled the cap and the rotor tip where the metal tip is was twisted an broken.so ima ssuming the backfiring did in the carb. anyways, i bought a rebuilt one today. worked fine for a few hours, but now it wont idle down past 1300 rpm an sounds like its missing on a couple cylinders. ive adjusted it the best i can.guess im calling their tech support tommorrow.
