fuel problem
I have one of these filters on my carbed camaro. I am having a rough idle and when i watched the filter i saw that it had difficulties staying full. as soon as some fuel went into the filter it went to the carb. when it would get to about empty it'd almost die but not quite. at this time the fuel level would go back up in the filter, and it would repeat this process basically. i am getting devastatingly low mileage, and adjusting the carb didnt seem to help.

I had the same problem on my old 78 Caprice. It turned out to be a dry rotted rubber hose that goes over the rear axle from the tank to the hard line. That made the fuel pump suck air and not enough fuel.

i forgot to mention that i am getting 2-4 mpg so its not a matter of insufficient volume...its a matter of too much volume. i cant set the AFR until tomorrow since i had to overnight order a vaccum advance diaphragm cause mine was broken.
It couldn't be running that rich of an AFR and still run right, could it?
