Lower the float level

But eventuall, at some RPM, when it flows enough to create a "signal" of venturi vacuum at that point, they're supposed to start feeding gas. 1200 RPM sounds a bit low though. And they never should "drip", when working correctly, the gas should come out looking like a spray.

As RB said, adjust the float level. Pull the two needle and seat assemblies and blow them out with compressed air.
may be some dirt or junk lodged in there.
Do you have a good inline fuel filter?
Edelbrock carbs don't like or need more than 6-7 PSI fuel pressure. If your fuel pressure is much higher I'd get a fuel pressure regulator.

Holley regulator #12-803 fits the bill nicely.

I took it apart, cleaned all three jet pieces really well, set the floats and the float drop like the edelbrock book says to.now it does'nt drip at lower rps at all,if i rev it it sprays but still drips after i let off the throttle. my fuel filter is'nt too old,i did'nt know it could have anything to do with this problem.I have a stock fuel pump so i can imagine having too much fuel pressure.

"I have a stock fuel pump so i can imagine having too much fuel pressure."

Stock as in for a carbed motor application or stock for a Fuel injected car.? A stock EFI pump provides too much fuel pressure for a carbs float to handle. Need high volume but low/moderate pressure for a carb.

If it doesn't stop "dripping" soon after closing the throttle back to idle then either the fuel pressure is too high or the float level is still just a little too high. or the needle and seats need replacing.
The higher the static fuel pressure at idle the higher the fuel level will be in the bowl even with the float set exactly to Edelbrock spec. I've found mine needs to be set a little lower. Unfortunatly Edelbrock carbs don't have a fuel level sight plug like a holley. You have to run the car, shut it off. Then remove the top of the carb to see the fuel level and then fine tune the floats.
