does any one know if its possible to do this? I heard that you just need to ovalize the boltholes on the manifold and it will bolt up is this true.
thanks

No you cannot just ovalize the bolt holes on vortecs. Whoever said that is thinking about adapting a post-1987 heads with a pre-87 manifold (the 4 middle intake bolts are slightly different - vortecs dont even have center intake bolts). You *can* drill and tap vortecs for standard bolt pattern but it completely defeats the purpose. The ports will never line up and you'll waste a ton of power.

Paceparts.com sells vortec heads modded for 86-prior intake manifolds. You have to run a thick *** gasket though. Defeats the purpose. The vortec style intakes aren't to expensive anymore. I'd just get that. Because if youve ever seen one its WAY different.
