Tach install on Canister type coil??
Hey guys I have only had two types of ignition, one being HEI and it says tach and the other being my MSD box and you just plug it in there. Now my freind has a MSD dist. and an MSD SS coil. I just have to hook the tach up to the positive on the coil correct?? thanks guys
Yeah, negative side of the coil. Also make sure the coil polarity is hooked up correctly. The + terminal gets it's power constantly from the vehicles electrical system (the wiring harness). The - terminal should be hooked up to the distributor.
If you get the polarity reversed the car will still run but your coil's output will be dramatically lower.
