Hi, I just was wondering if someone might have a solution to a problem i am having. The other day i took my car out for a ride and everything was fine until i put it in 5th gear, then everytime i hit gas it would make this loud noise almost like i was driving a truck. The noise is hard to describe except that it sounds like a diesel everytime i hit the gas and it only makes this noise in 5th gear. And it only happened after I adjusted the iab and idle speed. It also consumes alot of fuel after I did that also. Does anyone know what problems i might be having? i have an 86 z28 350 4bbl q-jet with original 5 speed manual trans.

 

what were your RPM's?

i know in my saturn if i shift into 5th and the rpms drop below 1000 or so it sounds like a diesel LOL....if that is it, its just that your rpms are too low and your motor is bogging
