i am thinking of swaping from tbi to carb. I don't have a lot of cash so i want to do it as cheap as possible but then again i want to do it right. I already have a elebrock 650 carb. I am thinking about buying a holley street dominator intake becuase it is cheap. the only thing that i am wondering about is it is make for pre 86 blocks. i have a 87-95 block. Is there any way i can get this intake to work on my engine or am i sol. any help would be nice. thanks

The only difference between the 2 intakes is the center bolts on each side. on the later intakes they are angled at, i think, 72° versus the normal 90°. Just take a drill and elongate the holes.

Yes that works great. Just silicone/thread seal the bolts good. i also used big washers to distribute the hold of the bolts more evenly. I did the same thing to my 89 350 TBI truck motor wityh a mild cam. I put a cheap aluminum intake on it, edelbrock carb, HEI distributor and tuned it. I did what ever I could to get that TBI off there fast! It was way faster with the carb!!
what how was your mpg after you did your swap?

you said you have a edel 650??? whats the part number stamped on the front of it. i had a edelbrock 1406 600 cfm and that was great on gas better than most v6's. matter fact i drove it to florida from ny once and it only cost me 90$
thx

sorry i ment 600. i don't know where i got 650 from. what did you use a fuel pump. the stock one with a regulator or did you get a different one?

on my 85 i ran a edel race pump. on the 92 i run a electric efi pump governed down with a holley regulator. basicaly it just buys me time untill i switch back to lt1 injection. the better route to go if your staying carbed would be to put a carb pick up in.
