DYNO #'s in

Hey im finally back.

my setup finally got dyno'd
-350 from 69 camaro bored 0.030 0ver
-rpm airgap intake manifold
-compcams xe262h cam
-edelbrock thunderseries 650
-holley red electric fuel pump

When I had it on the dyno, I tried an 8% richer rod, and three different acc. pump stages and nothing would solve the off the line fuel reqirement.

With all of these mods and the not enough initial fuel shot, I managed 330hp@ 5100rpm
and 350 ftrq@4800.
**I didnt rev past 5100 but it seemed like the cam was dropping off so i didnt want to rev further**

As soon as I can sell my 650 edelbrock and get the holley 650 double pumper I will have my initial fuel requirement met and hope for better performance with a possible 30-40hp increase.

The dyno numbers were reached with 2 pulls consisting of minor initial timing changes..plus 89 octane fuel and a small 10" air filter

I`m guessing you were using an engine dyno. You might see 350hp with a better carb.1hp per cubic inch is a respectable
goal.Did you advance your cam 4* or is it ground 4* advanced?

the comp cams are ground 4* advance out of the factory but initially with my old setup (edelbrock EPS, old distributor) I installed it an extra 4* advance with the impression that low rpm power will be plentiful.. RESULT..100% WRONG.
THerefor because I had to change the crappy old tranny I thought why not take the trans. and and engine out, only a 2 days job so I did. In the process I changed the intake to an rpm air gap and I installed the cam at 0*.
THats how I got my decent dyno #'s , even with insufficient initial fuel shot(hurts 60ft badly) and using 89 octane, and small 10" filter.

thanks for the reply, I look forward for more

hey 305 sbc, are you putting out 440 hp to the wheels???
if so tell me your setup, maybe I could learn a few tricks from you.
Thanks

Yes Edelbrock makes bigger squirters. Look at the number stamped on the top of the squirter. I swapped mine to a #43 (see pic).
There's some info about my old engine on page 18 of my site. It's 440 rwhp.
