TPS Problems
I'm certain the TPS on my ccc quadrajet is toast. If I unhook the wires going to it, the idle smooths out and it runs a lot better, no hesitation and great pick up. Does anyone know if it'll hurt anything leaving it unplugged? The mixture selonoid works fine, its just the TPS. By the way, its the factory carb on my 85 HO 305.

Could be. I've had to replace my TPS every two years, on the exact month. If you've got a multimeter, backprobe the blue and black wires (blue being +, black -) on the TPS connector with the key in 'on' position and see what it reads. Should be about 0.48-0.54VDC at idle, and increase to around 4.5-5VDC as you open the throttle to full bore. If it reads funny it's probably bad. I wouldn't leave it unplugged for any longer than you need though, probably will run too rich.
