Hi all, wondering if anyone can help me with this.
I have a 305 4 barrel all stock. My problem comes when I come to a quick stop or turn very fast, the car stalls. When she's ideling, the RPM's around 7-8 and she purrs, even when jumping on the 4 barrel it's good. I'm thinking it's a sticky float but not sure. Do I need a carb repair kit or is there some cleaner to fix this prob.? Is it even the float?

My edelbrock used to do the same thing. If the floats aren't right...that generally causes the stumble on hard braking and turning.

 

I had a problem once where the base screws that hold it to the main body came loose, the thing would run great except when hard turning or braking. I found it by wiggling the carb...just a thought.
