edelbrock 1406 tuning.

this isnt on my camaro but you guys are about the most knowledgeable people on these things i can find so hopefully you will help me. this carb is on my 1978 Bronco with a 300 I-6. i think i have the jets in it fairly close, atleast the primaries. the jets are .095. and the rods are .070x.037. it will idle fine and if you open the throttle at a medium pace it does fine. but if you just crack the throttle open(stay out of the secondaries tho) it just dies and falls on its face. i tired the next step richer jet and it got worse and i tired a step leaner and it stayed the same but had no power. im running the pink spring right now. what im thinking is that im to rich on my power side of the rod. would that make sence? or am i too lean? im new to playing with this carb so any ideas are helpful.

When you say "crack the throttle open" what do you mean exactly?

after moving the link of the Acc. pump it stumbles and sputters and USUALLY takes off. before moving it it would always die. still does maybe about 25-50% of the time if i hold it open. i am keeping it out of the secondaries too.

Is this a new carb or a used one?
