lg4 to ho350 carb upgrade rear hanger and rods
i have upgraded my 305 lg4 motor to 350 cu in, edelbrock rpm heads, slp headers zz4 cam . In GM's H/O conversion the upgrade to the carb was to repl secondary metering rods. in the catalog it listed a part# for the new rods but it was a kit for like 90$. Has anybody done this conversion or know what i need to do this? See its not fast enough yet and richening this up should really help!

I would suggest 2 things (and I did the same with excellent results):
First - pick up all the secondaty metering rods and hangars you can (for a good selection of parts)
Second - buy and install an a/f ratio meter (preferably a wide-band). It will allow you to monitor the a/f mixture in real-time. You want to run approx 13:1 a/f for max power (some cars might need to be richer).
Tune to get it right on the money...... then enjoy

All this does is quicken and richen the secondaries but what a rocket ride once it's set up!!!
Then go to the Tech Articles on this site and read over the QJet articles. They show you a couple of really simple things to do with the spring controlling the secondaries that allows it to open much easier so you have snappy 4 barrel performance RIGHT NOW

The QJet is an awesome street carb once you do these two simple things!
PS You might have to go to a high volume mechanical fuel pump now that you have a healthy 350 running the show. Make sure you get the high volume pump and NOT the high pressure one. QJets only like to see about 6 psi tops, so the high pressure pump is bigtime trouble. Carter and Holly make high volume units for about $50 or so.

You might consider the .149 needle/seat as well.
I agree with the B/DR combo recommendation. Amazingly versitile.
