engine won't idle

well, it was running fine one day then the next day, after it started getting cold, it didn't want to run. that's understandable. i waited a few weeks and tried again, after warming up, the engine and the temp. outside, it still won't keep idle in gear. it's a holley 4150.

did you try to adjust the idle mixture or idle speed screws? won't idle at all? what RPM does it drop the motor down to. 5 minutes screwing around with a vacuum guage and the screw settings might solve your problems. also, this carb have a choke on it as well?

yes, it does have a choke on it but it's working fine...my bro came by and thinks it might be a distributor problem (it's happened to me before) because when he was working on it we got consistent backfiring and a rough idle. were going to swap in the dist. from his engine to see if it will run with that.
