4309 regulator a poor shortcut?
What's everyone's views on using the Mallory 4309 regulator with a TPI pump to drop the pressure? I'm trying to figure out if I'm going this route or if I'm going to use an external inline pump.

Since nobody else has responded, I'll venture in and say that the approach is fine as long as the pump lasts (and it should last at least as long as you could expect one to last in a TPI system).
If you go with an external in-line pump, remove the in-tank pump.

That Mallory regulator works great. Worked for me personally and for a few other local guys.
I foolishly sold mine thinking I didn't need it but I realized I need 2 of them now.
I did some research and am using 2 Aeromotive Universal Carb-Bypass regulators now. They come with a spring for carb pressure and also an EFI pressure spring. Looks like a solid piece of hardware too!
Goodluck!

I went with an external inline pump and it wouldn't pull through the tpi pump so I had to remove it. Some have said they can pull through it though.

Well I've just decided that the stock TPI pump isn't going to support the motor anyhow so I'm going to have to drop the tank no matter what. soooooooo I'll be making a pickup and running an external aeromotive a-1000 pump and their bypass regulator. Thx.
