knock sensor ? on LG4

I figured this to be the appropriate place for this.

I've got my CCC Q-Jet from my LG4 on my 350 right now, right along with all the same sensors and everything... it's all basically just a LG4, w/ more cubes... (though it uses more built heads, but stock intake until my ZZ4 comes in).

I've been reading that the knock sensor/module (which is it anyways?) needs to be for a 350 if you have a 350, and a 305 if you have a 305.... but I wasnt sure how pertenaint it was to for CCC Carbs.

I doubt it will be an issue. You can always just re-adjust your timing or go with a higher octane.

Unless you use this car as your daily driver... I'd recommend going with Premium fuel and advancing your timing as much as you can to take advantage of it.

If you MUST stick with the OEM GM early 80s computer control (you ARE really limiting yourself), I'd recommend that you get a new PROM burned for the ECM. The fuel mapping will be slightly different and you won't get the full advantage of the increased displacement.

I've always reused the stock 305 knock sensor/module on bigger motors without a problem. 350ci, 355ci, 383ci, 400ci. Never an issue. I think the differences (if there are any) are so slight that it ends up not making much difference in the grand scheme of things.
