Swap 84 Firebird SE 4bbl for 84 Z28 4bbl HO Carb
Would I be able to take my 4bbl carb off my 84 firebird se and replace it with a H.O. carb off a 84 Camaro Z28 H.O.? They're both the same year and the same engine size, just the Camaro is a H.O. model. Would I get more horsepower from this? I've already taken the dual snorkel air cleaner off it and put it on my firebird and all is well with that. Any info is appreciated.

Welcome Aboard!
The carburetor is the same on both engines. Exchanging them won't improve anything unless there is a problem with your existing carb. And it that's the case, it would probably be better to rebuild your existing carb than to acquire another one that might just as easily need repairs.
Are you having problems with your current unit?

oh i thought there was something different about the carb because I was looking at this site http://www.f-body.org/tech/3rd_gen.htm and in the induction column, it says "4bbl" for my car and "4bbl HO" for the Z28 HO.
I don't really have a problem with my current carb. I know it was rebuilt at least once but that was probably a good 10 years ago or more.
What's different about the Z28 engine that gets it the extra horsepower. I'm pretty much looking for an easy way to get a boost in my firebird.

They are the same carb, but they have different parts. The HO carb has DR secondary rods and the SE has CH. I think the hangers are different as well. Also the Secondary Butterfly tension is less on the HO.
