got a question?
i have a stock q-jet in my T/A and when i open her up at full throtle she sounds like a damn vaccum cleaner, i'm assuming it's the secondares opening up but i had a camaro that had the same carb but she didn't sound like that... i was wondering if it's just dirty or is that perfectly normal; i was told the carb was brand new when i bought my car, and that was like 3 months ago, but it sounded like that when i first bought my car, any thoughs or opinions?

most of my q-jets sounded like that

Make sure the ignition is up to snuff first.
Then, you may have an issue with the secondary air valve opening too quickly. The choke pull-off holds the AV closed until vacuum drops, and the AV has an adjustable tension to get them to open at the proper time. Both need to be working right to avoid the bog.
