When I set them on the bench I set them the following way and ONLY in the following order:

1. Lean stop 4 turns up from lightly seated.

2. Rich stop adjusted to allow exactly 1/8" of travel between rich and lean stops. Obviously, you must set the lean stop first. If you don't know how to check for total travel shoot me an email.

3. IAB screw set 4 turns up from lightly seated.

4. Idle mixture screws usually about 4-5 turns out for most stock V8 applications. Little more for a performance-modified motor.

5. TPS adjusted on the car once a stable spec idle has been established on a fully warmed up running engine.

That'll usually get you in the ballpark on anything with a small block V8.

Yeah about that. I just had the thing rebuilt and now its stuck ideling at about 2000-2500 rpm. It also slowly increases as the car warms up. I will try what you said though Damon.
