Car: 1987 camaro lt

Engine: 305 4 barrel

Transmission: th 700r4

still idling high

checked all vacumn lines set timing but at startupthe rpms are very high after a couple of minutes i hit the accelerator quick and the idle drops to normal,i know my choke pulloff is bad and needs to be replaced,would that be a cause of a high idle at startup?

i had the same problem and as soon as i got a new choke pull off it fixed a multitude of problems including yours. If you do anything take naf's advice and get that part before doing anything more.
