Possibly lean?
Just need a second opinion on this. Past couple times to the drag strip my car has been popping through the exhaust a bit. First time I took things apart and found a small chunk of something stuck on the fuel screen secondary side. After that was cleaned out, I picked up 3 mph (105 to 108). This past weekend I went again and the car was popping pretty good on the first pass of the night but still ran at 109 mph and felt lazy. Second run it wasn't as bad and ran 109 mph again.
There's no big cloud of smoke when stepping on it which leads me to thinking it's lean. Might also be the fuel pump going out since it's not sounding like it used to, sometimes there's a high pitched squeel that goes away after a few seconds
I'm running a Demon 750 mech secondaries and a Holley black pump regulated to 6 psi. Same setup ran a consistant 111-110 mph all day long earlier in the year. Gonna pull the carb off and check it over and possibly do a flow test on the pump. Something is up and I need to figure it out

The dyno that was in the area has shut down, no one has seen the guy in nearly a year. Even the landlord was looking for the guy for back rent on the shop. Nearest one would probably be 2 hours away in Sacramento. Valvetrain, humm... guess I could try a valve adjust over the weekend while doing the other stuff just to rule that out too, yay for solid lifters! hehe.
