Is there enough room between the top of the sender on the fuel tank and the body to tap it and install a 90* fitting to run a -8AN line out of the top of the tank? I planned on using a 1/2"npt to -8an 90* fitting out of the top of the tank and get rid of the 3/8" rubber line. I've done it on a coule 4th gens but the tanks are a little different and don't know if there's the same amount of room for it on a thirdgen. FIgured it would be a better alternative to getting a new tank and welding a sump to it.
