heard of those, called the 360 or something? or xstream?

bad thing is your hood sits right on top of it, negating any good effects of the air cleaner part on the top.

first two on the list.

K&N calls them Stream Air Flow Top Plates.

just FYI. you need to run a tall filter with these.
otherwise, the pleats on the top come close to the carb, and you get some "intresting" carb responce... just because it clears without touching, doesnt mean its enough space... give it atleast a half inch...

otherwise, you're better off not running one.

Not only that but those things probably aren't going to do anything useful when they're jammed right up against the hood insulation already.

you get this wierd stumble that you cant tune out... usually when going to WOT..

you'll spend hours on the stupid pumpshot, and even mess with the jetting, and never get rid of it... or if you do, then it drives like *** the rest of the time...

frankly IMO, unless you have a cowl hood, skip it and run the largest filter you can.. drop base and all...

if you do have a cowl..... you're still better off running a taller airfliter, then leaving it low and putting that on.

if you had a older truck or something with alot of room, then by all means get it.. it looks cool... but i wouldnt add one to my car.

I have the regular 14 x 3 K&N with out the fancy lid. While on the chassis dyno I removed it for the second pull and lost 1 hp. Might save your $40 or so and buy something else for the car.

my buddy went to school at UTI. He told me they did a test on them to see what power gains you get from them and they actually lost power with it. Could have just been the type of car or motor, but i wouldn't wast my money on one.

I am running a 14x2 drop base with the lid. The only thing I had to do was a little dolley work to one of the hood braces on the stock 83 Ta hood. I also have the factory duct work removed so I am pulling air through the scoop.

I have a K&N with the Extreme Flow Lid.

Gained 5 HP on the dyno by taking it off.
