Transmission: dont have one yet
Axle/Gears: 3.42 spool on the way

this isnt for my car its for my friends mustang (ehh). he is going to run a holley 850cfm carb on his 302. yes it is huge. he is havin me make him a restrictor plate. i told him id do it but will this help any? i dont really know but id like to know before i start working

Ya know, there is some help given to people using SBC's in other GM's, as most of us deal with GM's aside from 3rd gens, and like to help folks out. But this is for a guy that isn't you, and it's a ford.

I'll say this much before I act as one might expect from Sonix's response.
Consider this: Holley 650 & 750 DP carbs use the same throttle plate. The difference in flow is in the venturi, not the plate. Restrictor plates are designed to limit engine power, not compensate for too large a carb.
