Just finished tpi to carb swap few q's

hey guys. i just finished my tpi to carb swap. And finally i have a car that runs. Ive read alot of great info on this board and would like to thank everyone on here. I just have a few qs.

I have a holley 4160 750 cfm Vsecs. The big vaccum port in the back I have it used for the brakes, I have the timed vaccum port for my dist , can i use the full vacuum port on the front for my pcv? Its alot smaller than my pcv hose , but i have no other place to put it.

Also it seems if i get in the car completely cold , i can open the throttle all the way, but if i try to do it again immediately after, it only gos to like 3/4. It consistantly does with wether the motor is running or not. I have a electric choke and vacuum secondaries, would this have anything to do with this, or is my carb defective?

Also last question as i am very new to carbs, Especially holleys, Cars idles and starts fine, I set my fuel pressure to 6 psi, and adjusted my fuel bowls properly, and havent touched anything else . The car runs 100 percent under light throttle cruise, but once i start getting into it it breaks up and back fires(Timing is good), Im very new to carbs in general, What would cause this? Accelerator pump or jetting? Im pretty clueless about both and insight would greately help.

thanks in advance

you might want to make sure you got your crank in the right position when you were putting in your distributor. I have had experience with backfiring due to the fact that when putting the distributer in the engine, I had the timing marks at top dead center (0 degrees advance) instead of at 6 degrees BTDC. Im guessing that may be your problem. Only other time I had the engine backfire through the carb was when a exhaust lobe went flat on my cam. It could be a few other things though possibly related to fuel pressure?

The big 3/8" port you used for brakes is actually your PCV port. Brakes should come off a vac. tee on your intake manifold.
