just wondering about fuel lines?
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on fuel line setup. On my 87 I put in a 406 sbc and have the in tank pump and a carter return style mechanical pump. When I bought my holley it came with a cheap-o chrome fuel line that uses rubber hose and I kinda want to use aeroquip line and fittings my question is what are the inlet adapters that I need and would I have to do the 37 degree flare on the factory line for it to seal? (then rubber return.) also the carb is a 650 dbl pumper list #4777. any other recommendations are appreciated also.

Well, you can get a dual feed kit with AN fittings then plumb that to your pump. The Carter is on the block right? If it is, you should be able to put a NPT to AN adapter (pipe thread to AN) then some braided line and a couple of hose ends. If you're going from a hard fuel line, you need a 37 degree flare tool, tube nut and sleeve to connect to the braided line.

what about using a 3/8" female npt fitting with a 45 degree flare then using the 3/8" npt to -06 an adapter? would that work or would it have alot better chance to leak? I wouldn't think so. but who knows (hopefully somebody cuz I really don't LOL)

For the fittings at the block pump, I would run a single fitting (male NPT to male AN), such as these: http://www.holley.com/types.asp?type=220
If -6 is what you are running, then go with the 3/8's to -6, then run the 6 up to the fuel split (like these: http://www.holley.com/types.asp?type=232). That would probably be the easiest.

I am probably going to use the edelbrock regulator bracket at the carb still not to hard and fairly cheap. does the 3/8" to -06 an sound ok off the hard line with the female 3/8" npt fitting with the 45 flare?

From where to where would the hardlines be? If you're stuck using hardlines, just go hardline all the way to the regulator inlet (assuming you are using one, since you mention the regulator bracket), then braided on the regulator outlets to the carb inlets. Unless that's what you're saying, then yes it will work fine.

my hardlines end about right where the a/c box would have been (I stuck an a/c delete box on) so I would have to get a female 3/8" npt fitting and then do a 45 degree flare from there and then the npt to an adapter then braided from there to the regulator and then braided on both ends of the regulator with a fuel pressure guage on the right side line from the reg. still sound like I would be OK?
