600 single pumper
i bought this off a guy and noticed both vac lines on it (for vac sec) are together. do i use the one off the side of the carb or the bottom plate

The circuit for the vacuum secondaries is built into the carb.
The ports you're talking about are for vacuum-operated accessories, such as the vacuum advance on the distributor. The one on the side is "ported" or "timed" vacuum, meaning there isn't any vacuum on it at idle, but it comes on as the throttle is opened. The one on the base is "manifold", meaning it has the same vacuum as is in the interior of the manifold. Which you use is dependant upon the rest of your setup - the typical smog-era distributor uses the ported source. Many guys run manifold vacuum with no problems.
