need carb help
wen i first got my 86 camaro, wen i started my car the idle was very high. but once it warmed up it slowly went down to normal.then as the days went on wen i first started it, it idled really high.then it started to get stuck.i would have to slam the gas for it to get unstuck.then i found out it was my choke thermostat spring. i had to tighten it,once i tighted it it idled perfect. but now it dont warm up fast.it takes like 10min. for example, wen i first start it wen i slam it it bogs but wen i slowly step on the gas its ok(wen its cold).once its warm it stops. so i was wonderin should i hook up my fan up to a switch so wen i start my car it would warm up faster n then after a couplle minutes i would turn the fan on??? please help thank you

You either aren't getting 12 volts to the choke thermostat, or the thermostat is shot. By moving it, you didn't fix the problem, you crutched it.
Make sure you've got 12 volts there with the switch on and the connector unplugged from the thermostat, and if you do, replace the choke thermostat.

The spring is attached to a plastic plate. Those two come as a unit that are removed and replaced in the metal housing bolted onto the carb body.

I remember responding to a schwack of posts back in the day about setting the choke up on a q-jet, but I could only find one post:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/carb...ighlight=choke
This should 'enlighten' you as to how a choke works on a q-jet. Try that stuff.
