NEED HELP QUICK

i need to replace my carb on my 84 z28 quick.
is my car electric choke?..i think it is but i need to know for sure
is 600 cfm sufficient?....i think it is but i need to double check
will an edelbrock carb mount to my edelbrock intake manifold, my stock quadrajet fits on it, and i didnt know if i would need an adapter?
is vacuum secondaries what i want?...i think it is, because mechanical secondaries are for hi performance applications...
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...43643_-1_10271

Yes, the 1406 carb will work for you, and bolt right up. You can use your stock q-jet mounting hardware for your cables on the edelbrock carb. You might want to order the jet and tuning kit for it as well if you have the $30 or so. it will help you adjust it better to your application, although it will run well out of the box. BTW, if its an edelbrock carb'd intake for four barrels, its a good bet their carb will fit

all the 1400 series edelbrocks ive ever had/come across always needed an adapter plate to bolt to the spreadbore intakes

do you still have the ECM controlled HEI and E4ME carb on yours ? if so then youll need to find a non ECM HEI too in order for it to run

you will need to decide if you want to install a manual choke cable in your dash and through your firewall or if youd rather run an electric choke like the factory carb was

also you would want a vacuum secondary carb, such as the Q jets are

they run smoother, better for everyday driving

whats wrong weith the carb you have now ? is it an E4ME or ?

good luck

The PN for the carb: (600 CFM elec. choke)
350-9900

And for the adaptor plate:
350-2732

And for the distributor: (vacuum advance HEI)
555-40005

Last but not least, the tuning kit:
350-1487

That is the set up that will work with the least amount of work. You can get all these parts through Summit as well, for a little less $$. Hope this helps.

Hey, as for summit, just change the first three digits (350) to EDL, and for the distributor, use PN SUM-850001R, its the same thing, just $25 cheaper. Oh, and summit and jegs will price match each other all day, so just get the lowest price for each part and call which ever you like, they will cut you a good deal.
