poor fuel millege

85 z28 305 quadrajet 4barrel a full gas tank with 89 octane will last me about 3 days when i park my car and wait a couple of minutes the car struggles to turn on again, i already put new spark plugs and cables and new air filter. engine light is on and lacks power. oil pressure is very low about 10 to 5 psi when the car is warmed up. could the car be leaking gas? and theirs a strong oder comming from the catalist converter.

Re: poor fuel millege

Sounds like it's flooding over. How old is the carb? Might be time for a rebuild or swap to an edelborck performer 600 if emissions isn't an issue..

Re: poor fuel millege

Test your throttle position sensor, It might think the car is going faster than it really is and your wasting full. Make sure your choke is not closed.

What does the check engine light telling you? For the oil pressure you might want a higher viscosity oil or your idle might be to low, or it could be your oil pump.
