What will I need for switch.....

I have a 83 z28 that was originally a 5.0 305 crossfire and manual transmission but has since been switched over to a 5.7 350 and a 350 turbo tranny. I just want to know if I would need to do anything special if I were to put in a new intake manifold and carb from what I have now. I do not believe my q-jet right now is computer controlled it just has the connection for the choke and A wire going to the front on the drivers side. I know that you have to change your distributer also when you switch but if my q-jet is already non cc then I would not have to right. Is there anything else I would need in terms of kits for the linkage on the new carb or anything like that. I have a pic of my carb not to great but should be able to see if it is cc or not......

I would just do a carb and intake at the same time. Get a decent aftermarket one to compliment a nicer carb and you should be set. I found a great deal on a dist. on jegs. It's their Street performance HEI for 129 bucks you cant beat it. Linkages will probably work, hell I made my tbi ones work with my carb.

If the switch from crossfire to q-jet was done properly, you should have a vacuum-mechanical advance distributor now, and it could be re-used with an aftermarket carb. Your picture doesn't show the distributor, so can't say whether or not that's the case.

What else you would have to do is dependent upon what carb you end up getting, and the linkage you have now.

Re: What will I need for switch.....

I am pretty sure my distributer is right becuase it has the canister on the side with a vaccum line going to the front of my carb. I am either gonna go with a holley 4160 #0-80508s or a eldebrock 1411....
