another tbi to carb swap question..
ok the only thing left that i am unsure about is the tc lock-up. what would be easier/more depndable and not as hard on the tranny? just hooking a switch to it like in the tech article? buying a kit from summit? if the kit, who sells a good cheap one? thanks for the help!! -jon

I suppose "cheap" is in the eye of the beholder.
One of the easiest ways to hook it up is to get a normally open, single pole (internally grounded) pressure switch and put it in the 4th gear port on the transmission valve body. The system locks the TCC by completing the ground for the TCC solenoid through the ECM (the power circuit comes through the brake light switch to the transmission connector and to the TCC solenoid - in other words, whenever the brake pedal isn't applied while the ignition is on, there is power to the TCC solenoid). The solenoid ground wire goes to the 4-3 switch on the valve body, back to the transmission connector, back to the ECM where it is grounded. Take that wire between the 4-3 switch and tranny connector and attach it to this new 4th gear switch, and now whenever the tranny shifts to overdrive, the TCC will lock.
It's not a bad idea to put a vacuum switch in the power circuit to unlock it under heavy load.
